Sunshine...

From a card...

"Thanks for the Sunshine"

And inside...

"You're like a ray of sunshine that makes the world warmer and brighter wherever you are. It's easy to see God's love working through you. Thanks for being you!"

Dear Daughter,

Mom and I love every aspect of your life and personality.

Wax and cement...

Dear Daughter,

Yesterday I was reading inside the truck after work when a hungry McKenzie (the cat) was trying to get my attention. I saw her jump on the hood and just as soon as she was up she was back down on the ground. Then I remembered McKenzie couldn't get any traction on the hood because I had waxed the hood, so those soft pads could only slide downward. It was so funny....!

Yesterday was so hot and humid..... so miserable, so after Mom left for work I went and finished exploring the headstones. I ran across Aunt Dolly's grave-all the dead flowers were still there on top of the dirt. the Boonya and Deda gravestone was covered with residual dirt from the Aunt Dolly burial. Then I visited another cemetery, it was started in 1868, so it has some people buried in there who were born in the 1810's. Some of the gravestones were broken or pushed over on its side. Some of the "poor" gravesones looked like someone had scratched the names and date on, like when kids write their names in fresh cement. the "poor" gravestones must have been made from cement.

Love you,
Dad

A Poem...

Still by Dee Myers

Still
Lord
Still
I walk in darkness
Muddled chaos in my mind
Still
Caught in the battles
I thought I'd left behind
Still
Teach me to see
Still
The cloud pillar
Your course for me
Still
Teach me to stand
Still
In the Tumult
Kept by your hand
Still
I would know your wisdom
Speak clear your will for me
Still
I would bear your likeness
Create your heart in me
Still
Teach me to hear
Still
In the silence
Your words appear
Still
Teach me to know
Still
Your life holy
My fear overthrow
Still
Let me be
Still
In your presence
Still

Hi Sweetie:

Dubya...

Dear Daughter,

Thanks for the wonderful article you e-mailed me at work about George W. I shared copies of it with four friends before writing you.

The article is consistent with other stories I've read about George W. Bush.

Love,
Dad
